Florida Fellowship of Community Churches
ICCC Congregations in the Sunshine State

The Florida Fellowship of Community Churches is an association of autonomous Christian Churches and Ministry Centers in the Sunshine State affiliated with the International Council of Community Churches.

The Florida Fellowship of Community Churches has no staff or headquarters location. We are clergy and laity of several different congregations and minsitry centers who gather periodically for Christian fellowship, prayer, learning, and strengthening of our participation in the ecumenical and interracial ministry of the International Council of Community Churches.

Our Fellowship is open to any Christian congregation or center for ministry that shares our passion for ecumenical, interracial cooperation and ministry on the local, national, and international level, as experienced through our participation in the International Council of Community Churches.

Report of the FFCC Quarterly Meeting Sept. 13

We met at Crystal Beach Community Church at 10:30 (more or less) on Tues. morning Sept. 13.  Thanks, Susie for your hospitality!  Present were: Host Pastor (and FFCC President) Susie Cashion, Sherry Vincent from Chapel-by-the-Sea, Ted Fielland & Bill Erikson from Temple Terrace Community Church, Bruce Merton from Peace Community Church, and Gary Batey from Roser Community Church.

We shared prayer concerns for: Herb Freitag in critical care at Morton Plant Hosp., Susie Cashion receiving therapy after a painful shoulder injury & surgery, Sherry Vincent's mother & husband after hospitalizations, Bill Erikson recovering from painful back problems, Don & Jane Thompson as they support one another thru Jane's illness, Gary Batey in therapy for ankle surgery and further surgery on the other ankle later this month.  We celebrate with Temple Terrace C.C. as they mark their 70th anniversary October 23.  Susie Cashion led us in prayer. We instructed our Secretary to send appropriate remembrances to those we noted in our prayer concerns and joys.

Bruce & Gary shared information and insights from the 2011 ICCC Annual Conference in Las Vegas.   (Thanks to Bruce for many excellent contributions to the quality of the 2011 ICCC Annual Conference!)  The 2012 ICCC Annual Conference will be July 16-20 (Mon. - Fri.) at the University Place Sheraton Hotel in Charlotte, NC. The theme is "Spice Up Your Life," based on Matthew 5:13 ("You are the salt of the earth.")  The 2013 Annual Conference will be in Grand Rapids. MI.

The upcoming meetings of our ICCC Florida Fellowship were announced and/or set:  Our fall quarterly meeting will be Tuesday, November 15, at Roser Community Church in Anna Maria.  The Annual Gathering of the 2012 ICCC Florida Fellowship will be Saturday, January 28, at Temple Terrace Community Church (9:30 - 3:30). The Annual Gathering will feature workshops on:  "Inspiring Resources for Spiritual Development,"  "Reaching Out to People Unreached by our Churches," and  "Dealing with Divisive Issues."

Treasurer Sherry Vincent reported a starting balance of $2239.40; no expenditures and one income item, a donation of $200 from Chapel-by-the-Sea, bringing our total balance to $2439.40.  We voted to expend a total of $870 in donations: $500 to ICCC General Fund, $250 to the Florida Council of Churches, and $120 to the American Bible Society, which furnishes this web site without cost to FFCC.

We adjourned at 1:15 p.m. to lunch at the Lucky Dill Deli.
